  1. Default help needed please!

    Hi.
I have cycled my tropical Fish Tank for 4weeks now, (70x41x31cm) fully Planted. The ph is 7. As a beginner can you give me some advice of what Fish to start with,I thought about Platy, but was told the ph was not right.

    Thanks.

Platy should do fine in that tank. The Ph for Platy is 7-8 and the temperature 18°C - 26°C. I would keep a ratio of at least two females for every male. You can also do Guppies to add some more colour.
There may be plenty of fish in the sea, but there is only one in my pond.....

More info on platy if your interested: http://www.aquaticcommunity.com/livebearer/platy.php

My experience with live bearing fish is once they start breeding they keep breeding especially if you have lots of hiding places for the babies to hide. Very neat to watch baby's grow up in the tank. These fish are great beginner fish and can take some abuse with changing water conditions, varying ph, and even ammonia spikes. Wish ya luck!

Agreed with the others - the livebearers are all good.
    Platys, Guppies, Swordtails.
Mollies are a little tougher because many like Hard (alkaline) water.
Currently: Spotted Blue-eyes, two species of Australian shrimp, Ornate Rainbowfish, Guppies, Corydoras, goldfish.

here here on the platys. I had 4 platy girls(now have 3) and they are a charming little fish. I haven't had any fry from my platys, i don't think any were prego.

Your pH is what a person would call perfect. Only thing it wouldn't be suited to is some cichlids that need pH higher.
