About Closing of Threads!!!!! READ!
1
No Mod enjoys having to close a thread. It stops the conversation cold and those that would like to respond are not given the opportunity to do so.
Once again, I would like to remind everyone that snippy remarks and continuing arguments that go nowhere only escalate a thread from a friendly discussion to that of a discussion not only unbecoming of you as a Member but unbecoming of AC and what we try to portray here. That of being a helpful and friendly forum.
We have to remember that not only are our Members reading your words, all our guests are, as well.
Moderators do their best to try to steer subject matter away from objectionable subject matter but if their posts are ignored and the arguement continues, the thread is closed.
Always having to have the last word is not the sign of wisdom but that of being argumentative, arrogant and dominating.
All opinions are great. Arguing and snipping is not.
Thank You

No one here likes to see threads closed. It really doesn’t help to spark and keep lively conversation which makes this forum interesting. I have seen and closed a few threads here lately and, and seen a few get really close to being closed. Needless to say, I am concerned about this.
There is absolutely nothing wrong with having different opinions and disagreeing with other members. As we all know, there are many different ways of achieving the same goals in this hobby. There is nothing wrong with a respectful debate.
Where things sometimes get off track (IMO) is when disagreements turn into a member trying to convince other members they are wrong, or when someone might take offense to some advice or suggestions and get defensive.
I would like to ask that before you post, please think
And just a reminder of some of our forum rules here:
* Be polite against other members and treat them well. The golden rule applies on this forum.
* Do not cause drama!
* Respect other peoples way of doing things. This is fish keeping and there is always more than one "right" way to do things. Do not argue and try to make it seem like yours is the only "Right" way. Acknowledge that other methods that have been posted works as well when you post your way. If you think someone give erroneous advice, say so politely and then say why.
If you take your time to do the research FIRST, you can successfully set-up and keep ANY type of aquarium with ease.
