Gold Fish and Water lily
I've inherited a natural pond(no filteration) from the previous owner (in the house I've recently moved into)with a few 4 inch goldfish and water lilies. I've just seen a bloom of water-lily leaves covering the entire pond now in summer, and the water is a kinda muddy. Do the fishes need a bit of sunlight? Do I need to clear up a bit of leaves?. Do I need to do anything to ensure the fish are fine?I've also seen a few frogs around too.

The more lilys the better, they shade the water and keep the green water algae in check. The fish are getting plenty of sunlight.Muddy water is fine as well, clear water is what you want, not the goldys. How big is your pond?Natural ponds are very good at filtering themselves and a filter shouldnt be necceasry, unless its a small pond[under 75gal]in which case the volume will not be sufficient for self filtration.
