cloud cover
I have added a few small fish to a new 5-ish gallon tank.. I awoke on day 2 of new fish to find the tank moderately cloudy-do I need to test the water or will it likely just sort itself out? I have a small 'purple krinkle' plant, a few neon tetras, 2 neon danios and a small swordtail....

You did not cycle the tank first. You need a test kit to test for ammonia, nitrites or you'll most likely loose them. If you get a minute, read the Free e-book in the left hand menu. It will tell you all about cycling and other good things. It may take a minute to upload on a slow dial up but just give it a few minutes.

Take time to understand the e-book because it solves problems and questions within itself, like a bible. The water will be fine after i am pretty sure of it. Good Luck
