Catfish in Koi pond
I have a Pa river catfish in my Koi pond and my Koi are dying. Could the catfish be killing them?

More then likely its a disease, remove that catfish asap,it is never a good idea to place any wild caught fish in any tank with existing fish,it is especially inadvisable to do it in a pond due to the large amount of area that can get contaminated Many parts of the susq are subjected to overly warm water temps due to power plant warm water discharges, that will lead to an abnormally high amount of pathogens and nasty organisms. You can buy channel cats at some pond centers, that fish place that pet place has some in lancaster.I recommend the removal of the cat,do 50%water changes at least 3 times in a week. The addition of pimafix and melafix will help kill anything fungal that may have been introduced. How big is your pond?

before we can blame the catfish there are other questions we need to ask.
how big is the pond?
is the pond filtered?
is it cycled and is the water treated with anything?
is there any way it could have been contaminated by something else?
where did the catfish come from?
how long was it in the pond before the koi started dieing?
is there any visible defects on the dead koi?50g-lungfish
30g-angelfish
29g-planted tank, kuhli loachs, neon tetras, pleco
20g-blue yabbie, danios
10g-cycling for shrimp
2g and 1g- 1 snail each
