How old before pregnency
We have a small balloon molly that we suspect is pregnant, reason we suspect this is it is very fat (even for a balloon) and the belly is very dark, almost looking bruised, an older balloon we had before showed the same signs before dropping a load of fry, but at the time it was a much bigger fish, the other thing is, this one is only about 7 weeks old, is this to young to be pregnant.

Don't know but my Platies are huge, too, and all males. Just hogs at feeding time.

7 weeks is probably old enough to start reproducing, but I am not absolutely sure. Many livebearers can start pretty young.

I know with guppies that they are born with eggs ready to be fertilized and then my a month old or so, they are mated. Then it's a few weeks after that they "pop". I can't remember if mollies are the same, I didn't breed them as long and pretty much left them to do it on their own :)
