Thread: tankmate

  1. Default tankmate

i had 2 gouramis in 1 tank and i had to take the aggressive one out, so i put my guppies with the non aggressive gourami and they were fine for a while, and recently the gourami is eating the guppies. what kind of fish would be compatible with the less aggressive gourami.

Gourami's aren't the sweet fish people think they are. So you have found out. Best way to keep them is one male with a few females. The females don't sell well and you don't find them much in the stores either. Breeders also like to keep their money makers and let the males go.

I have Rosey Barbs with my Gouramis and they do fine. The Barbs are faster- so if the Gouramis feel like causing trouble they just swim away.
