Hi Dreamcharmer, and welcome to the forum. That's a beautiful oscar you've got, I'm sorry I can't help you sex it though, my oscar knowledge is non-existant. There are lots of other members who have ample oscar experience, so I'm sure your question will be answered soon.

Can't help you with the oscar as I've never had one but perhaps in the Oscar thread someone can help you there.Cycling With Fish?•• The Fishless Cycle••

Welcome to AC. Oscars are very difficult to sex. The temperment is about the same for both sexes. The males may get slightly larger than the females but that is about it. Very large fish may be vented. NOT RECOMMENDED. This is done by turning them over and looking directly at the ventral openings. Unfortunately i cannot help you out much beyond this. Hope to see you around

Hello
Hi Dreamcharmer.
Welcome to the forum.
I now see your Oscar and it is awesome!
I think it is a bit young to determine sex, but the colors are so pronounced I would have to guess at male for now.
As it matures, you may be able to see the underside of the fish and notice the male reproductive "parts".30 gallon salt water tank
