Wild Longnose Gar
Here are a few random shots of a nice Longnose Gar (Lepisosteus Osseus) i caught while i was in NY state last week.
I caught this fish with a large rubber net at around 1:00 AM...he was cruising the shoreline feeding on shiners and small pan fish.

No - I'm afraid I don't have a tank big enough to realistically keep them - but I do admire them!

Thanks for the kind words and for taking the time to check them out! I'm supposed to be assisting on a Gar research expedition, possibly this month and next month (at least one of the two). I'll be sure to share some pics from that event as well.
