Out of Fish Food - Options?
I am broke, and I ran out of fish food. What else can I feed these guys?
I am getting more fish food on Friday when I get paid. I fed them this morning, but that was the last of the food.

What kind of fish do you keep m1indless? you can feed them the yellow of an egg if they are carnivores...seive it through a muslin bag first tho and feed a little bit. If they are plant eaters, some lettuce will do ...even some partly cooked baby marrow (I believe in the U.S.A it;s called zuccini). Fish are quite hardy, they won't be too bad off without food for a day or so. I take it we are talking fresh water fish

a little piece of your iceberg will be ok as well, tho they might not want to eat it..try it and see.

They will be fine without food for a day. I wouldn't worry about it.

a day of fasting will be good for them, don't worry
As I get older I find myself thinking about the hereafter - I go into a room and then wonder what I'm here after.

i've read several times that a healthy well fed, balanced tank can go up to 5 days without food. I have even read somewhere that said feed every other day, so i don't think you have anything to worry. In the wild fish can go days and days without any food.

Fish can definately go long stints of time without eating (I've had african cichlids go without food for up to 5 weeks while mouthbrooding their fry).
I actually feed some of my fish once every 2 days.
