Is there any other kind of fish that eat the algae?
Is there any other kind of fish that eat the algae? Do starfish eat algae as other than algae eaters? I was just curious. I have also seen people try and put snails in the tanks.

Are you looking for algae eaters gor fresh or saltwater? I am guessing salt since you reference to start fish but I want to make sure before I answer your question.

Platys eat Algae too
My Red Platys eat algae constantly, off the walls, fake plants and other decorations, rocks, etc. I think that they could probably live of the stuff if I went way for a week (my other fish wouldn't like that).
I have nothing to compare them to, so I do not know if they are even close to being as good as the "official" algae eaters in the aquarium world. They do not keep all the algae away and it did get out of hand. But they do seem to be very fond of it.Faith
10 Gallon Tank - at home - 1 female Red Wag Platy, plus 25+ fry (still counting).
4.6 US Gallon Mermaid Tank - 1 Betta (Prometheus)
1/2 gallon quaranteen tank - empty.
10 Gallon Tank - at work - 1 Zebra Danio and 1 female (silver and red) Dawn Platy.
My Mickey Mouse Platy (male) passed away, but his tattoo lives on in his offspring.
