New to the forums and fish keeping
hello
my name is sam, I am 30 years old,I been keeping fish for about 9 months now.
Just had a recent tragedy in my 28 gallon tank. that was filled with an assortment of barbs and other fish. It was my first succesful tank. Then I broke the heater.
But I still have a 55 gallon with 6 different sized angels. also I have a 10 gallon that is currently housing 3, 4 month old angel babies and about 6, 2 week old babies.
Other than the fish I have 3 kids, 2 boys and 1 girl. I'm married.
and my other main hobbies include anything volkswagen
A few of my angels.

Thanks for having me, I hope to learn some from you guys.Last edited by hobbs; 11-25-2006 at 02:29 PM.

Hello again. Guess you got over all the stress of that broken heater?
Your angelfish are lovely. You may want to post that top picture in the POTM (picture of the month) page for Decembers competition.
The pictures of your car could go in Off Topics, however. There's a Chatterbox thread of all off topic material.

Sam, I have moved your pictures into the General Forum. We need to keep this the Introduction thread only OK.
I have moved the pics of your car into Off Topics "Chatterbox."
We need to stick to the proper threads or will have posts and pictures all over the place.Last edited by hobbs; 11-25-2006 at 02:44 PM.

I like this one. I keep trying to capture the blue in the yellow angels but it's hard to do.

Yup. Kinda gotta keep filed around here or you won't get any responses.
You won't believe how jealous I am that your angels are getting along like that. I guess the rule is to keep several together so there are males and females.....which is what I hoped I had but guessed wrong. I just got three more this week that are so cute. Two stay together constantly but one goes off by himself and plays in the bubbles and eats lettuce. Not a bit afraid of any of his tank mates.
How big is your tank? It looks like a high tank. Is it? That may be on my list for Santa "after" I set up another 55 gallon.Cycling With Fish?•• The Fishless Cycle••

It's a 55 gallon.
It's not always peace and harmony in there. when the egg laying takes place they get ugly. also the 2 smaller ones can get kind moody. The breeder I got them from said some of his do this too but they actually don't hurt each other. They are fighting now as I type. They kinda seem to bark like dogs at each other. It's funny. they almost have to be getting ready for more egg laying. maybe tommorow.
I'm going to seperate some of them into the 28 gallon now that it's free.
I am trying to decide if the 28 is too small for the big marble.
I was going to put the big marble and the small black striped one in there. not sure yet. It still needs to run with some other fish for a while longer before I move any of my angels into it.

oh yea I have 3 females 2 males and the big marble I have no clue what that is.
Basically 2 mated pairs
1 that layed eggs once and 1 that is undetermined. 6 in all. I had 7 Nd that didn't work. I had 5 and that didnt work. this works but not always. the 2 lonely fish get trapped in the middle. thats why I might move them.
