    Default Eastern Snake Necked Turtle

    I have three Eastern Snake Necked Turtles that are about an inch in shell length (when all curled up) that have bad algea growth all of my other turtles have none except these three can anyone help me is to how to remove the algea from the poor juvis

    I never have had a turtle, but Ill think on some ideas..........

    Scrub it, if possible,
    use a algae remover chemical (dunno if these can go with turtles)
    pleco(If the turtle wont eat it)
    Or just get the tank out of the light more.

    Like I said, I never have had a turtle before, so see if anyone agrees with any of my ideas.

    i think using an algae chemical would work best if you can find one capable of not harming the turtle.

    is the algae growth limited to just his/her shell? if so, i used to use a soft bristled brush and water on my mudslider. this was a long time ago by the way. lol

    You may also try spot treatment with hydrogen peroxide. It does wonders on a number of algae.
