  1. Default Cleaner for my 30 gallon tank

I have a 30gallon tank with a Pleco and 4 giant danios in it. I am looking for something to clean the cover rocks a little better. I was thinking of little crabs but hear they are aggresive and don't know if they will mess with the pleco. If anyone has some good ideas I would appreciate it.

  2. Default

First off your really overstocked the pleco alone can get over 16 inches if it is a common pleco.

But if you moved the pleco. you could get some cory cats.

  3. Default

Good cleaners of what?Algae or left overs. For leftovers, corys cant be beat, you could have a school of 6 at least. For algae? Siamese algae eaters do that very well, they also eat leftovers which makes them doubly useful, you could have 2.

  4. Default

Oscar Fan, It's a 30 tall and the pleco is only about 2inches long now. I have a 150 when he outgrows this tank.

Smaug, leftovers is what I want disposed of. I have an awesome biological system setup in that tank and cleaning is easy as can be but I end up with a lot of food down in the rocks and I want to alleviate that.

Then I recommend a yoyo loach or 2.Mine are non stop at grubbing for food.Corys as well, its a toss up which one is more tireless.

  6. Default

Is this what you mean by a cory? Sorry I am not up on non aggressive fish.

    thats good to here...
Their are many species of cories. And the do a great job of cleaning things up. My favorite are peppers and pandas

I will go take a look at some cory's later this week. I must say that I am enjoying the community tanks very much which I didn't expect. I have the 30gallon 55gallon and a 10gallon which are community tanks and the fish are beautiful.
