What kind of tankmates should he get?
My brother is having a hard time figuring out what kind of tankmate he wants for his Bumblebee cichlid. I am not sure but we think it is a female and right now it's just her a catfish and a pleco in his 55 gallon and he would like more fish but is having problems making his mind up about what kind of other fish he wants.
Here is a pic of his cichlid!

He has had him for about 2 years in the 20 gallon i have now and he just put him in his 55 gallon.20 gallon- 3 platies, 3 tetras, 3 mollies, 1 pleco, mystery snails, 1 baby molly and baby net with 3 mollies
Take a look at my tank.

Other cichlids frow Lake Malawi that have about the same level of aggression and about the same size. And what kind of catfish is in the tank?
Stock the tank you have, not the tank you plan to have. Always have and use patience.

For those of you who want a SW tank and never have had one before or just starting out, read this blog entry from my blog on AC, it will give you a place to start.

I know nothing about that catfish, but like I said, Other cichlids frow Lake Malawi that have about the same level of aggression and about the same size, should get along with your cichlid in your tank.

What type of pleco is it? If its a common pleco hes going to outgrow that tank. As everyone else has said Cichlids of id similar size and temperments will often co-exist peacefully.
