  1. Smile Bubble Bus

    HI all!

I just added live plants to my 10 g and I have a question. I have a bus connected to a pump that has a hood that pushes open and lets a bubble out and then closes. Is this harmful to my plants? Also, the guy at my LFS said that I could run my bubble wand at night when the lights are off and my plants will like that and thrive...is that true? Thanks for the help in advamce

yep, run it at night, plants dont photosynthesize then. in the day, it will disrupt CO2. but if you have hardy plants, the oxygen shouldnt harm them too much

Definetely true. Do not run it during the day as the plants need all the CO2 they can get..... During the night crank the airstone on the tank to put vital O2 back into the tank that the fish need.....
75 Gallon South Cichlid: Tiger Oscar and Jack Dempsey

55 Gallon GT Tank: 1 Male GT and 8 Giant Danio

20 Gallon Long: Waiting for eco-complete planted red substrate that has been delayed 2 weeks due to weather.

I think I will trade out my bubble wand for an airstone..The wand never stays buried so I have it in the corner of the tank right now. How about the bus. It just lets out one big bubble every couple of seconds in the corner, Can I keep that on all day...

You could probably keep it on all day with no real ill effects. Your call though.
CORRECTED video of my fish. This link works. For sure. Really.

yea dont worry about co2 depletion... If you have plants in there that need maximum co2 and you dont have a co2 system you would want to keep the water still and dont run the airstone at day or your wasting your hard earn cash on wasted co2...

dont worry ABOUT IT i would keep that airstone on 24/7 right now for maximum oxygen for your fishies

do you by any chance know what kind of plants they are. some easy-grow plants still do well with an airstone.

Well if they are growing well with the airstone thing, then you can go ahead and leave it, but if ou are having some trouble with them, then tale the air off aqnd see if they do any better,
