I was at a pet store a few months back and they had what was called a dophin or whale fish? They said it got around 6-8 inches long, it had kind of a rounded of nose, does anyone know of such a fish and if they are peaceful?

There are several fish sold under such names. The most likely is a Petrocephalus species.

See this link and tell us if tht is the fish you saw.

True it could have been an african cichlid as well. Do you remember if it had that color or if it was blue`?

Baby whales are very friendly, a little aggression among eachther, and somewhat timid. Should not be kept with aggressive fish. That is atleast my experience.
