I have 1 clown plecco right now but I wanted to add another bottom dweller that would consume some of the algae in my tank. I would like to find something that doesn't get too large maybe around 6" or in the neighborhood. I have a community tank and am seeking one that's not terribly aggressive. Any suggestions?? I bought the CP from an LFS under the impression that he would clean the tank. But the more I read the more I see I might have been misinformed.

You are correct, clowns are not algae eaters,do you have driftwood for him? They need that in there diet.My hardest workers for algae eating are my 2 SAE .They are absolute murder for black brush algae as well. They have shown no aggression to my other fish but they are kind of picky to each other at times.

Bristlenose!!! a 3-4 inch BN can keep a freakin 55 gallon clean! He will be the ultimate cleaner and make sure they have wood! They must have it for fiber and an essential element!

    Good luck to you
    Alex

Thanks for the replies. What's an SAE? Are you referring to a birstle nose pleco? Do either get quite large?
