Thread: New server
03-25-2017, 05:06 AM #1
We are likely moving to a new dedicated server in the coming days. We are already on a dedicated sever but it is a few years old and slower than more modern ones.
The move might force me to close the forum for new posts for a while and/or might cause the forum to appear weird for a few hours or so.
Hopefully we will not experience any bigger problems but you never know for sure when you migrate to a new server
It is not 100% certain that we will move yet but it is likely. If we do then i will have to act quickly and move the site quickly. I am therefore alerting you to possibility that we will move to a new server even though it is not certain yet. This way you get time to read this message before things starts acting weird.
And if it doesn't happen i trust you all will forgive me for "crying wolf"Do as I say. Not as I do.

I appreciate your support. The main reason to get a new server is not to improve speeds but rather that i am afraid that the old one might start to break down (and cause down time) and the server company is offer a great discount if a switch to a newer one. Just need to make sure there is no cancellation period or anything like that on the old one. I do not want to end up paying for two servers ;-)Do as I say. Not as I do.

Thank you for this warning, William
(But what if we really need to get ahold of YOU, Joe!)
No really: William, you are so kind to provide this place for us. You do what you think is best and I'll send best wishes that your transfer -- if you do it -- goes smoothly for you, without any headaches.
and I'll practice deep breathing exercises while continuously, frantically checking and rechecking for the AC to come back online hahahahaLearn from yesterday

Thanks for the heads up, William.
Especially thank you for everything that you do hosting this site for us. You rock!100 gallon planted freshwater:
