    Thats with a windchill factor. It rarely gets below -30 degrees Celsius with out a wind. The formula to figure out the compensated temperature is a bit complicated because it has to do with ambient air temperature, wind speed, altitude and humidity. But basically, a windchill factor makes the air feel colder then it really is. So when you see the temperature displayed at -45 degrees, it might only be -20 degrees with a -25 degree windchill.

    But to be honest, the winters in Canada are cold, but very dry, so if you dress properly, it's not that bad. When I lived in Germany, you have a very wet cold, so even though the temperature was just above freezing, when it starts to rain, it just goes straight to your bones.

    We had the only snow this "winter" on easter monday...which already was spring...hmmmm, but as it was Easter Monday, it didnt keep me away from anything and was gone within 24 hours.
