They're alive!!!
We've on and off seen the two orange of our goldfish over the past couple of days, but today we were finally able to ascertain that all three of them are in fact alive and well and happily nibbling on the algae that the longer days bring to our ponds. (Man, there's a lot of those.)

It was especially great to see Moe, the black one, because he's hard to make out normally. We turned the pump off for a bit, so we could see better and take some pics. I don't know if this is possible over the winter, but I have the feeling they've grown a little.
Now, as soon as the snow melts, and the edges of the pond are a little more accessible, we'll have to do some spring cleaning in there.

I know goldfish and koi are coldwater fish but it allways amazes me to see them alive after a long cold winter outside. Great pics, thanks for sharing.

Thanks. Yeah, amazes me too. Even though everyone told us they'd be fine, and my head said they were right, I was still anxious for the ice to disappear. What a relief. ;o)

Thank you. :o) I'd do it again in a heartbeat, and it doesn't have to be huge. We signed up for a Build-a-Pond day with one of the local retailers. A hands-on experience like that can't be beat and really gives you an opportunity to ask all the questions, cause you're right there, doing it, from beginning to end.
