Went on the trip of my life to my lfs
Usually, when I walk into my lfs, it usually just seems like a fish store. But yesterday when I was buying fish for my 22g, I couldn't resist looking at the SW section.
Where there are usually just a few tangs loning around in the tanks, that time 2-inch kole tangs and a 1-inch sailfin tang came out, (I've never seen any of these tangs before in person, so I was blown away by the color.) Even a full-grown regal-blue tang and some raccoon fish were on display. I still can't even make out any scales or glare in the colorful marine tangs.
As for clowns, they had some ocellaris clowns playing in a bubble tip anemone, maroon clowns, clark's anemone fish, yellow clowns and even black clowns.
The coral tank had tridacna clams, frogspawn, a few small staghorns, sinularia, zoa rocks, and many other stunning corals.
When purchasing the freshwater fish, there was a newly set up red sea max aquarium on the desk, housing two ocellaris clowns and a full blown set of corals. And of course, there was the 3g nano-reef with hermit crabs at the bottom. This didn't stop when I noticed a large wall-aquarium right in front of the entrance that had to hold atleast 90 gallons. It was under-construction, and the fact that the only decorations inside were sand and tufa rock, I could definitly tell it was a marine aquarium.
Well, I still can't see how I resisted buying all of the needed supplies, and setting up a marine aquarium the second I got home.
Well, sorry if this seems pointless, but I couldn't resist posting on AC about how a trip to my lfs can seem like diving in places from the amazon river, lake malawi, and the great barrier reef.
