    i lost one of my xrays today and that only leaves 3 in the tank should i go get them a new friend seeing as its recomended for them to be in small schools?

    How big is the tank? And what else is in there?
    Stock the tank you have, not the tank you plan to have. Always have and use patience.
    - 29g FW - Community
    - 55g SW - Blue Watchman Goby, Royal Gramma, 6-Line Wrasse, 2 Ocellaris Clownfish, and various corals and inverts
    For those of you who want a SW tank and never have had one before or just starting out, read this blog entry from my blog on AC, it will give you a place to start.

    Well, a skoal is not 3 either. A small skoal is like 6 or so.

    they should still school with only 3, but they will feel a lot more comfortable with at least 6
    5 gallon-- my oh noes emergency tank
    10 gallon nano-reef-- clownfish, coral banded shrimp, snails, hermits, live rock
    46 gallon community-- tetras, danios, gouramis, platies, guppies, glass cats, corys, pleco

    I have to agree with Erik3.8.7 and Lady Hobbs, you should have at least 6. Strength in numbers, you know...lol...

    Get more until they stop schooling cuz then you'll know they're happy n comfortable.

    Just don't get too many where you overstock your tank.
