new tank maybe
I guess I may end up with a store bought after all. 100 bucks for a 40g tank that comes close to the deminsions I wanted. I guess its really 44 gallons but it will work.
I guess its going to be interesting swapping over. Nice to know I already have more then enough water to fill the tank. Guess I'll get to go find more live rock now too!! lol

Upgrading already, huh? :D You got it bad!
Good luck with the swap. I'm sure it will go just fine.

Why would he not want to mix his new live rock with the old? Unless you're referring to is the new lr is not yet cured, there's really no reason not to. He could always run to new tank with his new LR and then add the old once it's ready.

...yes, if it's not cured...and really, anytime LR is exposed to air, there will be some die-off...
Teeny-tiny pieces, such as those frags or corals come on likely aren't large enough to affect water quality...but more than that certainly can...55 g Goldfish Tank - 5 Fancies, 2 Dojos
