    Question Cloudy water?

In my 22g FW aquarium, the water has been cloudy for about a week, and greenish. I did a 3-4g water change yesterday, though the water remains the same. There is not much algae on the ornaments, so it couldn't all be algae spours... Though it could be algae spours in the water, and our common pleco (yes, I know what your gonna say) sucks on ornaments almost 24/7.
The filtration is a Whisper 10-20 HOB.
I tested the ph of the water, and it was fine. (greenish, in the middle of the card)
Any idea on what could be causing the water to be cloudy? If so, what should I do to get rid of it?

too much food maybe?? or check the cartridges on your filter it maybe time for a new one.

3-4g doesn't seem like a very big water change to me. Mine is usually cloudy when i do some planting or stir up some stuff but after a water change (1/3) and a day of settling and filtering it is usually okay.

Well, the tank is away from direct sunlight, though there are some nearby windows.
I recently got a new bio-bag last month, and cleaned out the filter.
Today I just did a 50% water change, and then the old fashioned gravel rinse.
The decorations are currently soaking in hot water, and I will leave them to soak overnight.
Tomorrow morning when the sediment that was stirred up settles down, I am crossing my fingers that the tank will be clear.

Sorry about my double posting, but After doing all of the things I listed in my post above last night, The tank still seems cloudy. I now have no idea what could be clouding the water so much.
Once again, I tested the ph, and it was fine. Sometime soon, I might be getting the tubes for the old UGF in the bottom. (don't worry, I will still be running my Whisper HOB, so the UGF only adds to the filtratin)
I might do another 50% water change in a few days.
If you are wondering why I am still trying to figure out the cause of the green water, it is because I will soon be getting some new fish.

Is the glass clean? i know sometime a thin layer of residual dust gets on the inside of the glass and the outside. Worth looking into.

Hey tigerbarb I have had the same problem only when I started my tank. IT went away in about a week with daily small water changes and fiddling with the filter and getting it running better. Hopefully you get this figured out! Must really be annoying.

What type of lighting are you using? And how long? This could be affecting your algea growth and making that cloudynes but I am not to sure.

Just don't do too big a water change. I think it's because if you do you'll kill your good bacteria that you have hopefully if you cycled your tank.
