  1. Default That's a real cool fish!!!

    Hello all,
Yesterday we went to our LFS, And I fell in love with two cool looking fish...
I was searching info about them, I find some but not that much info.

It was a climbing spotted perch or Leopard Gourami... They were really small, but I'm wondering if they stay that small, because they're really cool looking.

And I found what they call a "Platinum Tiger barb"... It's strange because I've never seen them on google or other site.... I've found Emerald tiger barb (green) but not this one.
Their bodies are blue with some green tint, the ventral fin were a striking orange red... and the tip of their head was slighty red... that was a really cool fish...
Does anyone have information about them?

I've seen those, they are quite nice.

You didn't have a description of the leopard gourami, but if you mean Ctenopoma acutirostre then I know some stuff about it. They usually grow to about 6", and can be kept alone in a 20-30 gallon, or with tank mates in a 55+ gallon tank. They like a pH of 7, and a temp in the high 70s low 80s.
They are fairly agressive, and highly carnivorous I find, they will eat fish much smaller than themselves, and will attempt eating fish the same size or slightly smaller than themselves. Not a good community fish, but they can be kept with other gouramis and some dwarf cichilds. They need a ton of hiding places and rarely come out during the day, except to eat.

Platinum and green tiger barbs are just color variations of normal tigers, and have the same care and description.

Yeah, that was this one, Ctenopoma acutirostre... Sorry I didn't put any description...
6"... Can't see what it is in cm... But pretty larger than my platies...
they seem so small when I saw them... So sad they're aggressive, I mean, for me!!!
Thank for your input and for the detail on Platinum barb ... They are really cute guy!!!
