Help with Corals

Im new to saltwater aquariums, i would like to start to raise corals...can someone please help me what and how to feed corals pls, and how frequent!?

well most coral just use photosynthesis. so you need a strong light.
you can feed them though.

Thanks for you help...but pls can u tell me what normally they fed on...for example if live foods, frozen or zooplankton purchased from a pet shop? Thank you :)

Not all corals even benefit from being fed. Usually they are fed zooplankton and phytoplankton. However on thing that you will likely find, is that your corals will not really "do better" being fed but your water quality will not be as good and you will be fighting algae more. I don't feed mine anything and they are doing very well. Since most of the corals we raise have the zooxanthalae in them there is need for food. The zooxanthalae will photosynthesize and provide all the nutrients the coral will need,. The only think that is going to really benefit from being fed would be the filter feeders like feather dusters.

i would like soft corals like...clove polyp, devils hand coral and kenya tree color, hard colars....like birds nest coral, cauliflower coral and horn coral and mushroom corals. What can i feed them and how? Thanks

how long have you been keeping SW? Judging by the questions and your posts, you are not the most experienced SW keeper. I would just leave corals alone until you have done some solid reading on the hobby.

Assuming you are inexperienced, here are the following answers to your posts:

* You do not need to feed 99% of corals. They need strong lighting becuase the algae in their cells provide food for them when they photosynthesise

* Hard corals like the birds next coral are very hard to keep and require perfect water quality and strong lighting

* Technically, you can't "raise" corals. You can grow them from frags or buy adult colonies. By "raising" corals, you must mean having the coral sperm fertilise the coral eggs and having the larvae settle down and grow into coral?

I do feed my corals...not much and only 3X a week, but they get a mix of Coral Frenzy and Cyclopeeze...and some get mysis

My leather eats, so does my frogspawn and my hairy mushrooms, the zoas do too, my Duncans are pigs...luv watching them eat...and so is the brain coral...the sun coral I also feed mysis too...since I'm trying to feed it more often than the others...

My acropora and my other SPS are also doing well...so they're obviously getting what they need...

i rarely if never feed mine. my wrasse is a messy eater so some frozen krill may fall into some corals but thats about it. i have 7wpg so the corals can make their own food
