WTF, piranha pacu?
well, i just had a goldfish massacre
i went to petsmart for a black ghost knife, and some guy behind me wanted all of the feeders they had. i figured i would save 8 from being food, being in my 80f 90g is better than death
i added them, right away my big pacu and baby one go after all of the goldies, and rip them in half, it was a massacre. theres goldfish heads allover my tank. they killed 5 of them at first, and now they dont even care about the other 3, i dunno if they just thought it was food or what
and i dunno what was with the ghost knife, they were $25 for $8, that was odd. i acclimated him and everything, and he dies within 30 seconds of going into the tank, noone attacked him or anything. he swam around, then just stopped at the bottom, twitched, then the black shark started chewing the carcass

Well that sucks... That was just an expensive meal for your 90 gallon. Wierd the Pacu's got him unless they eat meat or they were really hungry. Sorry about the knife and goldies. I'd take the knife back for credit....
75 Gallon South Cichlid: Tiger Oscar and Jack Dempsey
55 Gallon GT Tank: 1 Male GT and 8 Giant Danio
20 Gallon Long: Waiting for eco-complete planted red substrate that has been delayed 2 weeks due to weather.

naw, its only $8, if i paid $25 it would be worth it.
when the large pacu went for the first feeder i figured its understandable, he probably thought of it as food. then after he went running after all of them, theres like 2 tails and a head bobbing right now

Very strange, and sad.
I wonder what that guy wanted with all those feeders? How many were there?

3 survived the goldfish holocaust, the pacus were both still going after them, i dont know why since i have black skirt tetras and tiger barbs in the 90g that never get bothered. it would be too cruel to leave the 3 in the 90g so i moved them in my 15g long, which only has 2 small gold mollies and a gourami. eventually i'll upgrade for them
weird thing is only the gold ones got eaten, the 3 silver ones are the only survivors. i looked at red belly piranha pictures and im kinda scared my baby "pacu" is just a mislabeled red belly

A friend who had 3 Oscars and a huge black pacu used to buy feeder goldfish for them occaisonally. The black pacu always ate a few, though not as aggressively as the Oscar's. I thought pacu's were veggie eaters, but apparently they like goldfish too.
