Replacing Fish
I'm thinking of putting my guppies up for adoption (at PetSmart). I'm not 100% sure yet. I enjoy watching them. The female especially because she's got such a personality. But after she drops this load of babies, I think I'll be ready to end the livebearer experiment.
Anyway, I'm trying to think of what to replace them with. I really am not all that fond of tetras. I liked them at first, but since I've really been checking out so many fish, they are among my least favorites now.
I was thinking of a dwarf gourami. I want something that's decent sized, but not big enough to eat my danios or my otos.------------------------------------
10 Gallon:
Four Zebra Danios
Two Guppies (1 male, 1 female)
One Oto
One Ghost/Glass Shrimp
Three Guppy Fry

I have a honey gourami, and he's great! I highly recommend them. Only get one though..unless you're positive that it's a male and female pair. They get testy.

Any other suggestions besides the gourami?
On a side note, I saw this light blue dwarf gourami Saturday. It was GORGEOUS! I almost scrapped my plans to buy the otos and the shrimp. LOL------------------------------------

A 55g is a little bigger than a 10g. :) They need their space and territories, which I'm sure is possible in your 55g, but not so much in a 10g...you know?

Yeah.... I wouldn't necessarily do the Dwarf Gouarmis in the 10 gallon....
Maybe some cardinal tetra of some corys.....75 Gallon South Cichlid: Tiger Oscar and Jack Dempsey
55 Gallon GT Tank: 1 Male GT and 8 Giant Danio
20 Gallon Long: Waiting for eco-complete planted red substrate that has been delayed 2 weeks due to weather.

I had two males Dwarf in a 29 Gallon and it seemed a little small for two males. they will fight, and pick on each other. One ended up getting sick and dieing. So yea, make sure that they are a pair. Dwarf maybe small, but it seem they need a lot of room. They are very nice fish, just research up on them, they are very sensitive to ammonia.

Getting one (and only one...not two) for your 10g is not a problem. Just provide hiding places so it feels secure. I have a good number of plants in my tank, and I think that helps him feel safe as well. But, as always, read, read, and then read some more! That'll help you more than trying to get a pre-set fish selection for your 10g. People here can help you make sure you have the right numbers, but it's good to do the research and try to put it together yourself because you know what you want. ...That's what I've learned :)

Same exact thing happened to me with two male dwarfs in a 29 gallon.
