Thread: Atya gabonensis

  1. Default Atya gabonensis

Does anyone have vampire shrimps? I've just bought two and it would be nice to hear your own experiences about them. I would also like to know how to sex them if anyone happens to know. :D Thanks.

sorry i can't help you much.

What i have heard is that vampire Shrimps need brackish or salt water to develope into healthy adult shrimp. Young shrimps can be kept in fresh water but adult shrimps apperantly need some salt in the water.

I have no information about breeding vampire Shrimp and they have as far as i know don't been breed in aquariums.

I can't find anything about Atya gabonensis needing salt. Do you remember where you have read it? Not much information about vampires in net...
