I had a few gbrs in qt when one developed popeye so I set up a 2.5g hospital tank and treated him with maracyn-two for six days. He cleared up so I put him back with his mate and in 2 days they were back at it. Didn't waste any time ;)

Thanks to you all. I am new to keeping fish. Only a year now. Been raising discus and now getting fond of GBRs. You all know how it is,, started with one tank and now have 4 up running and another 75g in the garage just waiting :) My wife is ready to kill me She'll get over it. After 35 years she knows me LOL!

Well back to the GBRs,,I went out and bought a 2.5g tank and some maracyn-two and started treatment for 6 days and it seemed to be cleared up so I put him back with his mate. And off they went didn't waste any time! This was their 3rd spawn. The last two they ate the eggs within a day or two. This spawn they lasted 3 days before eating them. Oh well practice makes perfect.
Here are a couple of pictures of the male sick and the hospital tank I sat up for him. Total cost for tank and meds came to $16 and some change.
Now does this sound right spend $16 to save an $8 dollar fish?

Well I thought they ate the eggs but apparently they just moved them. I went to clean the tank today and the male was very disturbed. So I took a closer look to find this:
