k i found one internal filter made by hagen.
its like made for small aquariums (10g-15g)
and i think its called elite stingray?? forgot
what its called but yeah something like
that.
is that filter a good one? can i just use a
regular filter sponge for the material for
the inside?

to be honest stingrays suck, i used to have them and i had cloudy water always, and online sites give them bad reviews
petsmart sells fluval internal filters though, the 5-15g rated one is $25 i think

Not sure why you would use an internal filter.....
Aquaclear HOBs are much better, and would only be about $30
Well anyway, Eheim makes some good internal filters. So does fluval anthough theirs are more expensive.Last edited by NickFish; 02-25-2008 at 11:50 PM.

When you say "internal" do you mean the submersible? (completely under the water kind?) Those are good if you are using CO2 in a tank, and want to minimise surface agitation, as the water return is already under the surface. The one small one I have used on a 10G tank was/ is a Fluval 1 plus. Its good for a 10G tank. IF you arent interested in saving the CO2 in your tank for plants to use, then just a good hang on back filter will do just fine.
Tank1) 10G-Partially plant, Comm Tank. Topfin 10G Biobag Filter, small airstone. Some plastic plants for now. Lots of Java Moss on bridge like lavarock, 1 mini Sword in pot, floating clump of Riccia, water sprite, both floating and planted. 2-14W CFL's "Daylight". 3 WPG.
6 Danios (4 zebra,2 Leopard)
3 Albino Cory Cats
3 Otos
Tank2) 2.5 G Betta Tank. Tiny Tetra Whisper filter w/ airpump. Java Moss, floating water sprite, Riccia Fluitans. Male Crowntail Betta. 1 Small gold mystery snail
