Is this a Red Texas Cichlid? pIC>>
I know this is obviously not a true red Texas, however it was sold as a Red Texas. The store also had "True" Red Texans that were much more expensive and out of stock.
What kind is this? Green, Blue, cross with red maybe? It actually has red tinting on the fins and mouth that do not show up to well in this pic

Hmm.. not a true red texas cichlid.. True reds are orangish/red when born....
He is probably a green or blue texas cichlid. Alot of color when they grow up though!!! It is hard to tell the difference until they start to color in.....Last edited by jbeining75; 02-24-2008 at 04:27 PM.

Red texas are a type of flowerhorn. I have one. They are red (actually orange) when young. I am not sure of all the technicalities with flowerhorns though. Here is a pic of him form today.

We got them in at work, so I get it for $10. All the others I have seen are 4" and $250. Hopefully I will be able to make a decent profit on him.

Mine is in a 40high with my mbunas and open water piscivores. They can be over a foot, so full size they would need a 75.
