In regards to fish from Walmart, I bought a bunch of Malawi Cichlids 2 years ago and only one has died on me (due to stress during a recent move), I had to give them up this past month as they out grew their current home. I paid $3 each for them and are now selling for $80 each at a LFS.
On the other hand, I bought 10 Head and Tail Light Tetras on Saturday from a LFS, since then 4 have died. On Sunday, I bought 10 Zebra Danio's from Walmart and all are doing great.
Say what you want about Walmart, they do have good quality fish (at least in these parts).

old thread from november! lol
My wal-mart got rid of their fish a month ago, but their tanks were pure crap. No employees even walked by the tanks ever, and they were unkept. There were even betta cups jammed behind boxed aquariums where noone can see them. They even mix fish that are not compatible. since when can 8 oscars go with a sailfin molly?
