The mysterious disappearing reappearing fish.
Well, we had quite a fishy adventure today!
This morning we got up, did the morning feeding and did the headcount in our aquarium ... 6 shrimp, 1 oto, and 3 platies ... WHAT! Where did Blue go!
We looked all over the place, checked under all the decorations, moved everything around the aquarium. No sign of our blue platy, anywhere ... We figured she died giving birth and the other fish/shrimp finished her off during the night.
Later this afternoon, my girlfriend decides to save the babies and while she's doing that, I rumage in the filter to get one of the foam blocks out. I squeeze the basket in the AC30 to remove it and who pops out? Blue!
Apparently our old female scared her do bad she jumped out, into the basket for the AC30 and she's been stuck there since last night. From what we can see, she's not doing too badly. A few missing scales, but no much else from what we can see. We added some extra Aquaplus to help her slime coat and we've got our fingers crossed so she gets better.
Just thought I'd let you all in on our adventure and to tell you that before you declare a fish MIA, check everywhere.
PS: Any ideas about what to do with a mean old platy? She's bullying all the other platies. My AC Fish Gallery:

At least you found blue, I hope she gets well again. As for the mean platy you can try taking her out for a few days and leaving her by herself, then try putting her back in. This would make her the newbie and maybe cut down on the territories a bit. Platies can go either way I find some can have a really nice temperment while others are just bullies.
