DIY Co2 Reactor, how much water flow?
Hi there,
I am in the process of making my CO2 reactor using a babies bottle with an air stone and foam. My question is how much water flow through the bottle do i need, is enough to make sure the water is always moving through the chamber into the tank enough? or does it need to be rapid flow?

There shouldn't be any water flowing into the reactor. The reactor is just a simple home to store your sugar solution so the yeast can feed on it and give off CO2. As they do that they will also make alcohol which will concentrate in the mixture. At a certain concentration depending on what sort of yeast you use the alcohol will kill your yeast culture. I would go with a larger container than a baby bottle because the mixture you make will become toxic to your yeast fast. The 2 liter soda bottles have worked well for me as long as you have a good seal between the cap and the silicone tubing. Hope that helped you.

Hmmm... I got a little confused with your post and Halelorf's post. When you say reactor are you talking about a reactor for diffusing CO2 in the water, or are you talking about using a DIY CO2 mix?
It sounds like you're talking about a reactor by means of diffusing CO2 in the water..."My call sign is digital3... But you can call me Joda!"

I think it's to diffuse CO2, the flow needs to be fairly strong. Mine is made from 2" pvc with a flow rate of 350 gph (XP-3)
As I get older I find myself thinking about the hereafter - I go into a room and then wonder what I'm here after.
