empress cichlid
i just picked up an empress cichlid, at whut size do they usually get their colors?

Man those puppies get big, Have you ever seen Jewel Of The Rift, in the wild they get up to 5 lbs, got a big tank?

My red empresses are 5 inches and they started too color up at 2 inches....and they breed regularly...

the red empresses get around 8-10 inches. Best kept in AA55 OR 75 GALLON AS THEY ARE VERY AGGRESSIVE... I would not recommend two males in the same tank as they are even more aggressive towards like males.... colors will fill in usually with first year.....

Sailor, you're confusing red empress with emperor cichlids.

yeah I think you might be also the empress stop at around 8 but they are little dynamite fish...... horrible tank if two male red empresses are in there... fighting to no end.....
