aggressive gourami
I've got a 29 gallon tank with 4 pearl danios, 3 shwartza cories, and 1 female blue gourami. Since I've added the cories the gourami has become very hostile towards them and picks on them all the time. Would adding a male and or female gourami fix this at all?. What about more cories? Or will the Gourami just settle down with time? The cories have only been in there about a week.

Some gourami's can be very territorial... how dare you add other fish to HER tank? LOL
Nah seriously.. blue gourami's are not known for their sweet nature and she is convinced these cories as they are new need to be sure who is boss... it should settle as soon as she realises the cories are not going to fight back for territory.

Gouramis are just agressive fish, but she should stop after awhile.
I think you should add another cory or 2 to that school, they like to be in groups of 6 or more and adding more will make it less likely the gourami will pick on them. Safety in numbers!
Hope everything works out for you!

rearrange your tank a little and break the territories if she is cintrolling to much... this will put all the fish back on a level playing ground.... keep the lights off awhile

By blue gourami do you mean the power blue dwarf or the 3-spot gourami (aka blue gourami)? The 3-spot is aggressive by nature as is the gold and moonlight. If you are referring to the dwarf species, adding another might take the interest away from the corys.

I've had blue gourmai also and it was very aggressive. You may have to move the gourmai somewhere else.
