  1. Default My tetras are playing a strange game.

It's quite cute, actually. I have a school of 8 bleeding heart tetra babies, and they are playing a bubble game right now. I have a bubble wand stretched out along the back of the tank, and in the furthermost right corner (where they love to hang out the most), there are some bigger bubbles.

One or two will swim down halfway then get on top of a bubble and ride it to the top. They're taking turns doing this over and over. I can't get over this, it's so adorable!

Ahaha!!! They are so fascinated with these bubbles! When it's not their turn, they just sort of sit back and watch the others. I wish you guys could see this!

Yeah, you'd think they would be sleeping right now, but they're back at the bubble game. They also really like swimming through the current from the aerator. I'll never get to bed if they keep entertaining me like this. 8O

I'll try to keep an eye on them to see when they do it again. They did it last night after I turned the light off, and my digital camera doesn't have a light on it, but I'll see if I what I can do. I would love for you guys to see it. I get a kick out of it, as I'm sure they do, too!

No more bubble games, but they love that current my HOB filter makes. When I feed them, they let the current bring the food halfway down to them. I'm not sure if it's laziness or genius, but it is so entertaining to me, that I recorded them doing it. Here's them feasting on their favorites... Freeze dried bloodworms.

(video removed due to extremely poor quality. I'll try to get a better one during the daytime)

I also finally figured out the best setting on my camera to take fish photos.

I'm sure you guys are tired of looking at my tetras. I guess I'm like a parent with a new baby....tons of photos!!

my bubble wand isn't working very well anymore, so they quite playing the bubble game. however, here is a better video of them lettting the current bring their food to them. I know that they see the food on top of the water, but they insist on letting it come down to meet them halfway. Then shoot up and come right back down like "AHA!! GOTCHA!" :D

My loaches do the same thing and it's so cute.
If your bubble wand isn't working too good anymore, it could burn your pump up. You could remove it and with a needle, make a bunch more holes in it.
