To Much To Far???
HEy guys my female and male are in the tank together I have conditioned them for about 3-4wks and the female looks as if shes about to burts and the male has gone all out on a bubblenest with the female in the tank(in a hurracane glass). They have been together for about one week. So I let them go and I don't really now how much agression is normaly. The tank is about 70 degrees fairenhieght and I have a filter going. I also have tons of plants but htey don't seem to use them. Also are they even ready??? HELP!!!

i am unsure on the betta it sounds like he doesnt like her,
is she a similar colour to him, i have heard the male goes to a female that has the same sort of colouring to himself

If the female is bursting and showing horizontal stripes and the male has a bubblenest and there is no breeding within 30 - 40 minutes after placing together then the male indeed simply does not like the female... they will likely never breed...
When I was breeding with betta's I had 1 male only ever choose 1 female to breed with out of the 5 I had.... he ignored and attacked the other 4 non stop but the 1 certain female he would mate with nearly instantly of being placed in the tank.

You need to SLOWLY over a week or two raise that temperature to 80 degrees. That's the best temperature for Bettas and may improve his view of potential ladies.

u must first put the betta male, and after he build the nest, you add the female; in one day or two days the nest is build, one week is to much, and nothing hapens hmm... perhaps you must change someting like Dave says the temperature and is normal that betta male to be very violent, but one week must be too traumatic for the female
