Cynotilapia sp. black mbamba Lupingu
Anyone have any information on this species? I have been looking for more info on them for about 3 days now and all I can come up with are a price list and photos of them. I want to know size of fish and the ph they do best in. Stuff like that. Here is a photo of them: They are the blue and black striped ones as far as I know!

I found out what I was looking for! The name is a little off. It is known as, according to cichlid-forum.com, Cynotilapia afra (Lupingu). They get to be about 3 inches and are mildly aggressive. Here is a link the the website.

man they look like a great fish. Quite smll too for a mbuna if it only grows to 3 inches..
Are you going to get some and what will they be housed in?Be careful, that light you see at the end of the tunnel, could be a train!!

Yeah I will eventually be getting some. They will be going into my 42 gallon hex tank with my cons when it finishes its cycle. There will be male and female con and male and 2 female cynotilapia lupingu's in it.

be careful, if the cons breed they may kill the mbuna.
remember too that theyre from different lakes so they may fight otherwise

Yeah I was looking into that. I'm hoping they wont fight. Going to be putting lots and lots of caves and hiding places in the tank.
