What kind of habitat would I have to use and what kind of aquascape would I make to keep a Cherry shrimp in my 10g? Do there preffer rocks or wood?
I have a flower pot and two cave like rocks in my tank for hiding places.

from what I have read they seem to like a lot of plants, live ones and places to hide and pick about in.

Your best bet would be a planted tank, heavily at that. Cherry shrimp are easily susceptible to nitrate poisoning, so the plants would help combat that, along with an aggressive water change schedule.

I have a 10 gal with nothing but Red Cherry Shrimp. Plants are a must have. I keep hornwort and Java moss along with a bunch of plastics.

I haven't done any significant water changes in a month or two, but I do watch their behavior closely to make sure they wren't getting sick. Everyone stresses water changes, so I might be the exception.

They continue to multiply.... maybe I got lucky with the right mix of variables. I would also suggest letting snails do their thing, they seem to be very helpful.

Also, Dave/someone else feel free to correct me if I'm wrong, but adding a bit of iodine will help them molt.

There should be enough trace in the tap water to allow them to molt. It takes very, very little iodine, less than 0.01 ppm, for them to manage it.
