    I was told that i needed live plants to breed my dwarf gouramis. Is this true? Also, will dwarf gouramis eat my snail? thanks for any help.

    the gouramis may peck at it but i doubt it, as for plants its recommended

    i believe they trigger the breeding like with bettas, since theyre both larbrynth fish

    They like floating plants to anchor the nest. I had good results using a ring of styrofoam cut from the top of a cup
    As I get older I find myself thinking about the hereafter - I go into a room and then wonder what I'm here after.

    thats good... i love these fish but i dont want the hassle of real plants... i have a 29 gallon tank and i have 2 males and i plan to buy 1 more male and 4 females and just keep the one species... will they be alright with a huge piece of driftwood with a bunch of silk plants around it? it should give them plenty places to hide, but i dont want them to kill each other. and i want to breed them, but like i said, i dont want real plants so i hope i can

    I've had great sucess with just some water sprite, very easy to grow and care for, no special needs require and the dwarf gouramis love them. Here is one of my guys

    From my experience java moss and java fern are easy plant to grow. The only floating plant I ever grew is duckweed which is easy.
