  1. Default Advice on new mbuna tank

    0 Not allowed!
    Hi,
I have a 215 litre tank which I would like to set up as an mbuna aquarium. Is it big enough?
I have a Fluval 405 external filter (rated for 400 litre aquarium).Would this provide sufficient filtration?
I have read differing opinions on how to stock. Some suggest having only male fish, while others think that a ratio of 3-4 females to every male is the way to go.Any thoughts on this?
What would be the optimum number of fish (assuming that I opt for fish with an adult size of around 10 - 12cm) ?
Any other suggestions or help would be greatly appreciated.

What kind of mbuna are you thinking about getting ?
They are some really pretty ones out there. I have learned that mbuna are really dirty fish. Since I set my mbuna tank. The filter you have should enough. Since it's for a much bigger tank. I believe it's one male for every two females. I'm not really sure how too tell one from the other. As they all look the same, but all of my mbuna get along fine.
