  1. Default 265gallon Cycling?

Ok, so the tank stand will be getting stained this weekend, then a finish. After that, one last thorough cleaning of the inside. By that time, I should have enough for the wet/dry and the pump, and it'll be ready to plumb and fill! Now, here's my question. If I add the 150 gallons from the one tank, as well as all the rock, driftwood, plants, ect., Would the tank still need to cycle? If I put the 2 biowheels on the tank from the 150 and let them filter as well, would the tank be ready for fish? It seems like it would just be a large water change, right? Thanks for the info!

You should also put some of the old gravel in a mesh bag and place it in your gravel. I would go with the safe bet and say that your tank still need to cycle, but it will be a quicker cycle. If you don't want to wait you can add very few fish and they should be fine because it is a 250g tank.

you could do like you said but also make sure that there is some waste on these plants and stuff for the ammonia and then you should just test the water daily like you would when you are doing a fishless cycle....i would wait atleast a couple of days....cause you still might get an ammonia spike.

Yeah, and dont bother changing the 150g of water, the bacterias you need are on your gravel, ornaments, plants, driftwoof, glass, and filter. No need for the water change.

adding the established bio-wheels plus the live plants will effectively cycle the tank. Actually it's the filters that need cycled. Although the tank can be considered "cycled" don't stock too heavily for a couple of weeks. Other than that, you're good to go
As I get older I find myself thinking about the hereafter - I go into a room and then wonder what I'm here after.
