Argh..My Day!
Decided to organize all my fish stuff. I have it crammed everywhere. Seems I just did this two months ago so how does this stuff end up in such a disorangized state?
I grab a large paper bag full of river rock and the darned bottom fell out of it all over the floor.......about 40 pounds. I crawl around, get it all cleaned up, run the vac, then I see another huge paper bag of the stuff. My Gawd I did it again. Bottom gave way AGAIN. Before I get this pile cleaned up, I knocked over a huge bag of Laterite. For those who are not familiar with Laterite, it's RED powdered clay.
I was 3 hours cleaning up laterite and rock from my carpeting.
My next tank is getting this river rock whether I want it or not. I have about 120 pounds of the stuff.Last edited by Lady Hobbs; 01-06-2008 at 10:46 PM.

That would have been easy. The vac will not pick up rocks. LOL I generally put ununsed gravel in old pillow cases. Why I put it in paper bags, I have NO idea.

Thats not good!
I went to get a haircut which I oh-so-desperately need today, and I get there at 4:50, and they close at 5, and they turned me away and said they are closing early today. They are the only place to get your haircut open this late on a Sunday. Looks like it has to wait until next weekend.Money can't buy happiness, but it sure can pay the rent.

I had a pretty good day. I got out at 10am and did an 8 1/2 mile run (i'm a little sore form that.) i cleaned up the 10g before iwent to the petstore and thne i moved all the sand to one side and added gravel to the other, i also got 3 big ruffled swords for $10 and the jellybean cichlid. So like everyone else *knock on wood* that tomorrow will be jsut as good.

Beats me. Same thing happens to me all the time. It seems like this stuff has a life of it's own and it just grows and grows!Decided to organize all my fish stuff. I have it crammed everywhere. Seems I just did this two months ago so how does this stuff end up in such a disorangized state?
Sorry to hear about the rocks and the laterite!! The latter must have been a real pain in the rear to clean up!! But you have an excellent idea about keeping extra gravel in old pillowcases!! I have never thought of that...I tend to keep the gravel in old bowls which sometimes have lids and sometimes don't...which I'm sure you can figure out that the ones without lids are the ones that get knocked over
