  1. Talking My way to get rid of Valonia...........

    Well, I have found out a way for those of you who have 50g+ tank to get rid of valonia (bubble) algae. Many know already that manual removal can do more harm than good because the majority of the time, the bubble pops and releases thousands of spores across the tank. However, my cure actually eats the baby valonia before they become a problem and releases very few spores as the bubbles are eaten whole.

    Just joking. This is him for real:



    Desjardini Tang (Zebrasoma desjardini) from the Red Sea. This is the only Red Dea specimen in NZ. All the rest are from the Pacific or Indian ocean. Within one minute of him being put into the tank, he began to eat the valonia.

    He will be moved to my grandfathers 250g tank when he outgrows mine.

    Also excuse the mess. The new skimmer is arriving tomorrow and the tank will be getting a decent clean then

    very nice dog...never thought it could do that in a tank......hhhmmm....if i get a SW tank and have this problem i think i will have to borrow your dog...lol.
