um..... he killed it
my hermit crab just killed one of my snails and it looked like he ate it, since when do they do that?

They do it when they grow and need a larger shell to get into. It happens when you don't provide grow-out shells for little reef hermits. If they have them the hermits leave snails alone.

i knew they need bigger shells and was gonna get some this week but im wondering if it was defensive because the snail came over on crawled on top of the crabs shell, i didnt think it was a big deal so i let them be, when i came back it was dead. Could my little crab had just gotten scared and tried defending itself?
