  1. Default How long can you let dechlorinated water sit?

I changed the water in my mini-bows today but I accidently filled my bucket with too much water to put back in my tanks. I hate to just dump the water out because I already added the dechlorinator to it. Can I let it sit for a few days and use it when it's time to change the water in my 10 gallon tank? Or do I have to dump it out now?

you can let it sit...if you let it sit all its going to do it evaporate the chemicals out. i am pretty sure. It shouldn't make a difference with the dechlorinator anyways.

do you have chlorine in your water??

Yeah...like Megan said, you could water some plants. LOL! If you want to let it sit for a few days, then i suggest you try to cover it so that nothing gets in. Like dust or hair or mozzies.

How much dechlorinator did you have in the bucket? Half a spoonfull. I'd dump it to get it out of your way.

I used to let buckets sit full of water for a few days to dechlorinate it. It is fine but if you have already dechlorinated it then I would cover it.

If it doesn't bother you or takes space, save it for later use.
