When we were living in southern California, I found one of these in our bathtub. I also found one clinging to a wall in our living room, and crawling around our apartment. We lived near the ocean, but not near any freshwater bodies of water. We think it lived in our drains. Gross and scary! I sure wouldn't want to be bitten by a bug that huge! We did manage to get rid of it, eventually.
